After years of struggling with dental anxiety, I can honestly say this has been the most positive dental experience I’ve ever had. From my very first phone consultation, I felt listened to and respected. I had explained that, for personal reasons, I would feel more comfortable with a male dentist, and that request was handled with understanding and professionalism from the start.

The clinic itself may not be the most modern or polished aesthetically, but I actually found that refreshing. It has a warm, approachable, almost rustic feel that made it far less intimidating than the overly clinical environments you sometimes find elsewhere. It felt grounded, comfortable, and very much connected to the local community here in rural Norway.

The reception staff were friendly, welcoming, and efficient, and from the moment I met Per Fredrik and his assistant, I felt I was in safe hands. Both were calm, cheerful, and professional, which immediately helped put me at ease.

What stood out most was how thoroughly everything was explained. Per Fredrik took the time to answer every question I had with patience and genuine expertise, which built a lot of trust. I never felt rushed. He was highly professional, but also warm, personable, and easy to talk to, which made a huge difference for someone like me who experiences anxiety around dental treatment.

During my consultation, I felt completely comfortable being open about my fears, including my sensitivity to the sounds involved in dental procedures. I was even able to wear my noise-cancelling headphones, which they were completely accommodating about.

What began as a consultation eventually led to me making the decision to remove two upper wisdom teeth - something I had been anxious about for years! To my surprise, both extractions went incredibly smoothly. Per Fredrik was gentle, checked in with me throughout, and made adjustments when I needed extra reassurance.

Both wisdom teeth were removed successfully, without complications, and healed quickly. For someone who has feared the dentist for most of their life, I honestly felt proud and even euphoric after each appointment. The experience meant so much to me that after each extraction, I bought myself a silver ring at Det Gule Hus, as a way of commemorating facing a fear I had carried for years.

I would highly recommend Per Fredrik and the team, especially to anyone who struggles with dental anxiety or values a professional but human, grounded, and reassuring environment.
